AP

So earlier today after recieving back my final in AP Environmental Science i realized how strange the College Board grades their tests on the 1-5 scale. I got an 85 on the test and that correalated to a 5. I was looking at the rest of the grades (they were by school number, not name) I saw that some people had recieved a 70 on the test but somehow gotten a 4. It amazed that you can get college credit for barely passing an exam. Last year i got a 4 on both AP Us History and AP Lang but i wonder what exactly my grade was. I think this is a very unique way to grade tests and the only reasonable explantion for why a 3 (which is passing) can be given even if you don't get a 65 on the test is that the curriculum is much harder so they dont expect you to know all of it.

I barely knew anything about AP Environmental last year and still managed to get a 4 (I originally thought I would get a 3 if I was extremely, extremely lucky).
APs just don't make a lot of sense to me because the class is taught strictly to prepare you for the AP exam, but then the exam doesn't really matter.
